BARCAROLΑ
The custom takes place every year in July. Choirs in boats, sail on the Gaius Channel and sing chants while sparklers and fireworks illuminate the sky.
FEST OF NEROLADIA (WATER-OIL FESTIVAL)
It takes place in mid-July, offering free bread with olives and onions, boiled potatoes and wine, accompanied by local traditional music.
FEAST OF ST. GAIOS
This is an important local celebration that takes place on June 29. The icon of the Saint is litany accompanied by the famous philharmonic orchestras, while the event receives hundreds of visitors.
ANTIPAXOS
The traditional festival of St. Emilianos takes place on July 18 in Antipaxos.
FEAST OF THE VIRGIN MARY
On the morning of the 15th of August, the faithful join in the same caravan and head by boat to the island of Panagia, creating a small fjord. Boiled beef with juice, lemon and wine is served there after the night service. The broth is distributed to all pilgrims, locals and foreigners who attend the custom every year.
